Mrs. James Poole is pictured by Star-Bulletin chief photographer Warren Roll, registering with the Community Services Center at Schofield Barracks, an army office that helps smooth the move. Her daughter Deborah, 2, tugs at her skirt. Mrs. Poole is going to Youngstown, Ohio. "There ought to be a medal for wives of servicemen going off to war," writes reporter Tomi Knaefler. Her stories on the wives with more pictures appear on Page C-1."
