United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) is one of six geographic combatant commands defined by the Department of Defense's Unified Command Plan (UCP). As a geographic combatant command, USINDOPACOM is in charge of using and integrating United States Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps forces within the USINDOPACOM area of responsibility (AOR) to achieve U.S. The USINDOPACOM AOR covers more of the globe of any of the other geographic combatant commands and shares borders with all of the other five geographic combatant commands. The commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command reports to the President of the United States through the Secretary of Defense and is supported by multiple component and sub-unified commands including: U.S. Forces Korea, US Forces Japan, U.S. Special Operations Command Pacific, U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. Marine Forces Pacific, U.S. Pacific Air Forces and U.S. Army Pacific. These commands are headquartered in Hawai’i and have forces stationed and deployed throughout the region.

U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) conduct small arms live-fire qualification training while underway.

The training sharpens Sailors' weapons proficiency, reinforces safe fi****ms handling, and ensures personnel remain prepared to respond to potential security threats at sea.

Strengthening alliances. Enhancing interoperability. 🤝

U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5 Detachment Atsugi, alongside Japan Air Self-Defense Force personnel, conduct joint airfield damage repair training at Iruma Air Base, Japan, during Exercise Keen Sword 27 (KS27).

The training strengthens the ability of U.S. and Japanese forces to rapidly assess and repair damaged airfields, helping sustain aviation operations and maintain operational readiness.

KS27 is a routine, biennial bilateral exercise designed to enhance readiness and interoperability between U.S. forces and the Japan Self-Defense Forces while reinforcing the ironclad U.S.-Japan Alliance.

Commander Adm. Samuel J. Paparo joined regional defense leaders at the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) to advance practical cooperation, strengthen interoperability and build the confidence and capabilities that
help prevent conflict.

The United States remains committed to working alongside ASEAN allies and partners to uphold sovereignty, strengthen regional security and deliver peace through strength.

U.S. Pacific Command Statement on DPRK Missile Launches

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea launched two ballistic missiles on October 29, 2026 (KST). We are aware of the missile launches and are consulting closely with our allies and partners. Based on current assessments, this event does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel or territory, or to our allies. The United States remains committed to the defense of the U.S. homeland and our allies in the region.

USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) Participates in Keen Sword 27. ⚓🚢🤝

Royal Canadian Navy Sailors tour Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) during a passenger exchange with Halifax-class frigate HMCS Regina (FFH 334) as part of Exercise Keen Sword (KS27).

Passenger exchanges provide Sailors from allied navies opportunities to share knowledge, observe each other’s operations, and strengthen professional relationships, enhancing interoperability among maritime forces.
