The department consists of the Town Marshal, 2 full time officers, 13 reserve officers, 5 dispatchers, and 1 animal control officer.

🚨 NOTICE FROM THE HOPE POLICE DEPARTMENT 🚨

In the coming days, the Hope Police Department will begin tagging abandoned, inoperable, and/or non-plated vehicles located within the Town of Hope.

Vehicles found to be in violation may be tagged for removal in accordance with Hope Town Code 8-69, Article 10, and applicable provisions of Indiana Code.

If a vehicle on your property is tagged, you will have 20 days from the date of notice to either:

• Remove the vehicle, or
• Bring the vehicle into compliance.

We encourage residents to address any abandoned, inoperable, or non-plated vehicles on their property before enforcement begins.

There is a gray and white Great Dane running around the area of Walnut and seminary Street, he is a very timid dog and won’t let anyone get near him. If anyone knows where he belongs or knows who the owner is, please let us know so we can try to get him caught at home.

Good news!!! 12:30 pm-A short time ago a homeowner observed the female on her property. Law enforcement was quickly on scene and the missing female has been reunited with family. Thanks for spreading the information!!

Update: 11:45 am~Still no additional sightings. Please be on the look out and call law enforcement with any information you may have. We are using all available resources to locate her. The Indiana State Police, Indiana Conservation Officers, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, and Jackson County EMA are all assisting the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and other area law enforcement officers are searching for a missing person, Maria Guevara Biveros, age 59, who left a residence on the south side of Reddington, along US 31 in northern Jackson County at 4:50 am this morning. She was last seen walking northbound on US 31 through Reddington. She was last seen wearing a white shirt and light colored pajama pants. She also possibly has house slippers on.
