Weather Ready | Protect What Matters

Hurricane preparation is about more than stocking supplies. Taking time now to protect important documents and information can make recovery easier after a storm.

Keep insurance policies, identification, important records, and other essential documents together in a safe, dry place that is easy to access. Terrebonne Parish also recommends creating a household inventory, including photos or video of your belongings.

A little preparation now can make a big difference when severe weather threatens our community.

Stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day, seek cool or shaded spaces, and check on children, older adults, neighbors, and others who may be especially vulnerable to extreme heat.

Most importantly, know the warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Recognizing the symptoms early could save a life.

Stay alert. Stay hydrated. Stay safe.
