Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day of celebration and remembrance. On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were finally freed. Juneteenth marks this date as the true end to slavery, and is a powerful reminder of the resilience, strength, and centuries of injustice faced by Black Americans.

During this time when our current Federal Administration is trying to erase this history, and here in our own county, they still refuse to recognize it as a federal holiday, we should recognize that the Democratic Party remains committed to fighting for civil rights and preserving that history.

As we reflect on the meaning of freedom and equality, may we continue to learn from the past and work together to build stronger, more inclusive communities.

Happy Juneteenth.

On the lawn of the White House, where we should be setting an example for the nation, let us be clear: the hateful and degrading attacks directed at Michelle Obama was unacceptable.

Disagree on politics all you want. Debate policies. Argue elections. But reducing a respected former First Lady to cruel insults and bigoted smears is beneath the dignity of our country.

We do not strengthen America by demeaning people. We strengthen it by treating one another with respect, even when we disagree. There is no place for this kind of rhetoric in our public discourse, and it deserves condemnation from people of every political persuasion.

Mullock for Congress joined us today at the North Wildwood Flag Day Ceremony. Thank you to our veterans, families, and Bill Davenport for a beautiful tribute to all who have served.

Families are struggling under the weight of rising costs for groceries, housing, healthcare, and other everyday necessities. For seniors, working people, and those facing hard times, programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and other vital safety nets are more important than ever. And now, on top of the current cuts to fund tax breaks for billionaires, Congress is planning to hit them a second time.

This economy is leaving too many people behind. We need change that protects Social Security, strengthens healthcare, and preserves the programs that help working families and retirees stay secure. The challenges are real, and the need for action is urgent.

Zack Mullock is that change.

Go Zack!

Most campaign donations are money set on fire.

But in a wave year, the right Democratic candidate in a red district can matter.

The Cape May County Democrats are proud to endorse John Carson and Renee Pettit for Dennis Township Committee.

Good morning Dennis Township! Renee here - John and I are running for Township Committee to bring some balance to our local government. To me that mean making sure the right questions get asked, whether in a public meeting, behind the closed doors where our current Committee likes to do it’s business, at the various committee meeting or on surveys for the public. How many of you knew the Township recently took a survey for the Master Plan? We need to bring the community back to the table with local government. Voters need to feel heard and welcome at Township Committee meetings not treated with disrespect. I make a pledge to treat everyone with respect if elected even if you don’t agree with me.

We are all entitled to our options and to have those options heard. I may not always vote the way you want but I will listen and work to understand your view. I will respect you and remember that I am not always right nor do I know everything there is to know.

Our current Committee has been in office too long. They have become complacent and some say a bit arrogant. We don’t need term limits if voters decide to vote out the incumbents regardless of party. Now is the time to move DT Forward by electing new voice to Township Committee!
