Roderick

Audrey began working with Roderick in May 2026 as he worked toward employment and greater stability; thanks to a refferal from Paul our Worker Dorm Program Coodinator. Over the next several months, he received support with employment preparation, résumé development, identifying his skills and work experience, and obtaining several important documents needed to help him move forward.

Supporting Roderick was truly a team effort. Monica, Emelda, and Audrey worked together to help him address barriers, obtain needed documents, connect with resources, and continue moving toward his goals. During difficult times in the process Roderick said " There was still sunlight through the mist" with Harmony House's support.

Roderick remained engaged throughout the process, and all of that hard work has led to an exciting milestone: As of June 2026 Roderick is now an employee at the Harmony House Navigation Center.

We are proud of Roderick and the progress he has made. His determination, willingness to accept support, and commitment to moving forward are exactly why his success deserves to be recognized and celebrate

Teamwork, laughter, and a little friendly competition! 💙

Recently, our New Beginnings: Permanent Supportive Housing team took a well-deserved break from the important work they do every day supporting our clients. The team enjoyed a delicious lunch from Fajita Pete’s 🌮 and put their knowledge to the test with a fun game of Jeopardy! 🎉

Taking time to connect, recharge, and have fun together helps us build an even stronger team—so we can continue showing up for the people we serve. 💙

🌟NICHOLAS’S JOURNEY TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP 🌟

At Harmony House, successful reentry is about more than a fresh start—it’s about creating opportunities for a brighter future.

After joining the Harmony House Worker’s Dormitory Reentry Program following his release from TDCJ, Nicholas arrived in Houston ready to rebuild. With determination, hard work, and support from Harmony House resources—including our Business Center and Life Skills Coach, Mrs. Marsden—he has accomplished some incredible milestones:

💼 Secured employment within just 45 days
🎓 Enrolled in school to further his education
💡 Took the exciting step of starting his own business and registering his LLC

Nicholas’s journey is a powerful example of what can happen when determination meets opportunity and support. We are proud to be part of his journey toward stability, independence, and entrepreneurship.
