St. Thomas High School recently held a service challenge where students were encouraged to prepare and package care kits for those in need. These wonderful kits contained hygiene items, socks, snacks, bottled water and more. CCSC was grateful to receive hundreds of the kits and we will pass them along to our clients at the Emergency Services food pantries.
Students delivered the items to CCSC and learned more about the impact their care kits will make as well as about other CCSC service opportunities. Thank you for your generosity and compassion, STHS!
Former Emergency Services-Central volunteer and longtime CCSC supporter Diane Konen made wonderful washable cloth masks for those visiting CCSC’s food pantries—especially our smallest visitors. Thank you, Diane! They are adorable and the children loved them.

They even performed a special “magic” trick that you won’t want to miss. Hear their conversation and more by registering for Cheers to 40 Years at http://bit.ly/CheersCCSC.

When CCSC volunteers Bruce and Kathy Adams see a need they jump in and meet it. They spent hours last week transferring many bins worth of food onto the shelves of CCSC’s new warehouse and pantry, and organizing it all for easy access—and Kathy also worked her magic on the diaper and hygiene areas of the warehouse. Thank you both for your time, talents and muscle, you are MUCH appreciated.
Volunteers will be taking donations of nonperishable food for CCSC’s food pantries late THIS AFTERNOON, 4:30-6:30 p.m., at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell St. Swing by after work and make them smile (under their masks!).

We love our new space! THANK YOU, Arch-Con Corporation
for helping CCSC to serve more and serve better.
Feeding families… job training… rental assistance. These are just a few of of the services CCSC - Christian Community Service Center provides and, during these trying times, the needs have increased. For example, they are feeding five times the number of families they did before the pandemic. Arch-Con is thankful to build this beautiful new building which is double the size of their old to expand their services. To volunteer or donate during this tender time, visit www.ccschouston.org

For many years, a volunteer team from St. Martin's Episcopal Church has worked in the Emergency-Services Central food pantry each 4th and 5th Saturday of every month. What a wonderful circle it was for them to be the first group of volunteers to put food on the shelves of the new food pantry in the J. Dean Robinson Building.
Thank you to all the St. Martin’s volunteers who have worked the food pantry over the years (we missed you on Saturday, Nancy Holder!) and a special thanks to everyone who volunteered or dropped off grocery donations last Saturday. Click photos for details.
What a GREAT first day of moving into CCSC’s new home!
We are filled with gratitude to God and to all of you who helped get CCSC to this time and place. And we are filled with energy and commitment to use every inch of the J. Dean Robinson Building and the W.T. & Louise J. Moran Campus to fulfill CCSC’s mission to the best of our abilities. The CCSC community is truly blessed.
