🚒❤️ IT’S FIRE PREVENTION WEEK! ❤️🚒

Just a friendly heads-up to everyone! This week, Tuesday through Friday, you may hear sirens throughout the day as we take part in Fire Prevention Week activities! 🚨

Please don’t be alarmed if you hear sirens in the area. We’re out helping spread awareness about fire safety and teaching the importance of being prepared!

A big thank-you to everyone who supports our local firefighters and helps keep our communities safe! ❤️🔥

Stay safe, stay prepared, and remember that fire safety starts at home! 🏡🧯

🚨 STOP. TURN AROUND. DON’T RISK IT. 🚨

Hoyt Rural Fire District #3 is asking everyone to use EXTREME CAUTION on area roads.

We have received several inches of rain over the past few days, and road conditions can change quickly. A road that was passable this morning may not be safe this evening.

🌊 If there is water over the road — DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH IT.

You cannot tell how deep the water is or whether the road underneath is still there. Floodwater can wash out pavement, gravel and culverts, leaving dangerous drop-offs that may be impossible to see.

⚠️ Never drive around barricades or road-closed signs.
⚠️ Slow down, especially at night.
⚠️ Do not assume a familiar road is safe just because you drive it every day.
⚠️ When in doubt, TURN AROUND.

Taking a few extra minutes to find another route is always better than putting yourself, your passengers, and emergency responders at risk.

TURN AROUND — DON’T DROWN.

Please share and help us get the word out.

🇺🇸 **September 11, 2001 — September 11, 2026**

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, Hoyt Rural Fire District #3 pauses to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on a day that forever changed our nation.

We especially honor the **343 FDNY firefighters**, along with the law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, and countless others who answered the call with extraordinary courage and selflessness.

Twenty-five years have passed, but their sacrifice has not been forgotten. As firefighters, we carry forward the legacy of those who ran toward danger when others were running away — serving their communities with courage, duty, and compassion.

We remember those we lost.
We honor those who served.
We stand with the families who still carry their memory.

**Never Forget. 🇺🇸**

Last night we trained on hydrant connections. We worked with our new firefighters on the proper way to "hook" the hydrant. As well as the different ports that hydrants may or may not have, and how to get the most water out of them. They learned what the different colors represent in regards to flow and pressure. We then transitioned into FDC [Fire Department Connections] on buildings, and how they work. As well as what to do when the connection is needed.
