Elmont's music room recently received a major upgrade, with the addition of a replacement piano! To celebrate the addition of this new equipment, Mrs. Cunningham is holding a special NAME THE PIANO contest. 3rd-6th grade students submitted nominations, with the finalists being voted over the coming weeks by our entire student body. We'll announce the winning name later this month 🎹🎹🎹

Elmont has an instructional paraprofessional opening that we would LOVE to see a very special person help us fill! Elmont would like to extend an invitation to interested parents and Elmont community members to be a member of our 2026-27 Elmont Site Council. Site Councils serve as an advisory group on a number of school and district matters and are a great opportunity to learn about (and directly contribute to) operations at both levels.

Our first meeting will be next Monday, August 31 at 6:00 in the Elmont Library. The meeting will immediately precede our FIRST PTO meeting at 7:00. (there is no obligation to attend both, but both groups would LOVE to have you join) Agenda items for our first meeting include:

-General Site Council Introduction and Information
-Building updates
-Goals and plans for the school year ahead

We will meet a total of 4 times this year. If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, please RSVP by e-mailing Mr. Wells at [email protected], or by calling the Elmont office at 286-8450. (RSVPs are not required, but are helpful)

A reminder about this evening's parent night times:

Kindergarten: 5:00-5:45 p.m. in the Elmont Gymnasium. There is only one session for kindergarten families.

1st-3rd Grades: You will have your choice of two repeating sessions: one 5:45-6:15, and the second 6:15-6:45. All sessions will take place in your child's classroom.

4th-6th Grades: You will have your choice of two repeating sessions: one 6:15-6:45, and the second 6:45-7:15. All sessions will take place in your child's classroom.

Also:

While in your child's classroom, be on the lookout for a room sign-up/volunteer opportunity, along with a sign-up for indicating your child's Bobcat Dash t-shirt size.

Also, we will have some VERY special $1 tickets on sale in the lobby that night. Each ticket enters you into a drawing for a FREE Elmont spirit wear item of your choice, with all proceeds being donated to Elmont PTO. Be sure to stop by with your dollar(s)!
