What a night! ⚽️💙

Thank you to Huntsville City FC 💫 for inviting the National Children’s Advocacy Center to be the Section 256 Organization of the Game! Our staff and their families had a fantastic time cheering on Huntsville City FC as they took on Crown Legacy FC.

We’re honored to be recognized and grateful for the opportunity to share the NCAC mission with our community. It takes all of us working together to create a safer world for children.

🐾 Marvin Monday: Wellness Edition!

Even helping paws need a pause! When Marvin isn’t hard at work supporting children and families at the NCAC, it’s important that he gets time to rest, recharge, and just be a dog.

And one of his favorite ways to do that? Getting outside for some playtime with fellow working dogs from Canine Companions and Huntsville Hospital!🐾 We love that these hardworking pups get a chance to trade important jobs for zoomies, fresh air, and time with friends. 💙

This Wellness Month, we’re taking a page from Marvin’s book and remembering that taking care of ourselves helps us show up for others, too.

What’s one thing you do to rest, recharge, or make time for a little joy? Tell us below! 👇

Prevention starts with empowered adults. 💙

Our Prevention Department recently had the opportunity to provide training for leaders across Madison City Schools, including department directors, coordinators and specialists, principals, and assistant principals.

These dedicated educators and administrators play a critical role in recognizing, responding to, and helping prevent child abuse and neglect. By equipping the adults who work with children every day with knowledge and tools, we can strengthen the network of people working together to keep children safe.

A special thank-you to Stephanie Allen and Dr. Daphne Jah for helping coordinate this important training — and to new Superintendent Eric Terrell, who took time out of his very first official day as superintendent to participate. We’re grateful for his commitment to making child safety a priority from day one!

Protecting children is a shared responsibility — and prevention starts with all of us. 💙

Happy ! We thought it was time to share a couple of fun facts about our favorite four-legged teammate.

🎓 1. Marvin has a diploma! Marvin graduated from Canine Companions before joining the NCAC. He completed nearly two years of professional training to prepare for his important role.

🐾 2. Marvin is a working dog. As a facility dog, he is professionally trained to support children and families at the National Children’s Advocacy Center by reducing anxiety, enhancing therapies, and promoting participation for children and families who come to NCAC. Marvin uses his specialized training in different ways. Sometimes he quietly comforts a child during a forensic interview or court proceeding, joins a therapy session, or lightens the mood with one of his silly tricks (like rolling himself into a burrito!). Every interaction is intentional and designed to help children and families feel a little more at ease.

One of the highlights of every Board meeting is our Mission Moment—a chance for our Board of Directors to hear directly from the dedicated staff whose work brings our mission to life.

This month’s Mission Moment came with a special guest. 🐾 Meet Marvin, our newest facility dog!

Marvin may have stolen the spotlight (and a few hearts), but his role is an important one. Every day, he helps bring comfort, calm, and a sense of safety to children and families navigating incredibly difficult circumstances, while also supporting the dedicated professionals who serve them.

We’re grateful for a Board that values learning more about the impact happening behind the scenes, and for the opportunity to introduce them to the very good boy who is already making a very big difference. 💙

Every step taken at the UAH Kappa Delta Shamrock Run helps create a safer future for children. 💚💙

This year, the incredible women of the Kappa Delta chapter at The University of Alabama in Huntsville KAPPA DELTA presented the National Children’s Advocacy Center with more than $16,000 in support of our mission. Even more inspiring, their lifetime giving has now surpassed $200,000!

Year after year, Kappa Delta continues to show what it means to be a champion for children. Their steadfast commitment to preventing child abuse and supporting children and families in our community is making a lasting difference.

To the members, alumni, volunteers, participants, and everyone who helped make this year’s Shamrock Run a success—thank you for investing in hope, healing, and justice for children. We are honored to have you as part of the NCAC family. 💙

Our Backyard Shindig was everything — and then some! 🎉🐾

We brought together our 180 Degree Society members, board members, stakeholders, and our amazing multi-disciplinary team and their families for a beautiful evening on our campus to celebrate the people who make our mission possible. Good food (thank you, Food City !🍽️), great company, and even better conversations filled the night.

We loved hearing from CEO Chris Newlin, Development Director Hannah Alderson, and Intervention & Clinical Director Erica Hochberger — and a HUGE thank you to our presenting sponsor, , for making it all possible.

But let's be honest, the real star of the evening was Marvin III, our brand-new facility dog, who made his official debut and immediately stole every heart in the room. 🐶✨

To our 180 Degree Society: you are the reason we can do this work. Thank you for showing up every day. We are so grateful for each and every one of you.
