We’re closing out another busy week at TARCOG and wanted to share a few highlights from trainings, meetings, and more.

On Monday, TARCOG onboarded five new employees! We're excited to have new staff joining our team!

And on Monday and Tuesday, the Alabama Department of Senior Services Summer Training Series for Case Managers and Personal Choices Counselors was held at TARCOG. The Guidehouse State Health and Human Services team spent two days learning about new program models and technology.

Guidehouse is a global professional services firm serving the commercial and government sectors and we enjoyed the training from Sarah Ekart, Rina Kitazawa Griffin, Babs Hall, and Ashley Pannell.

On Wednesday, senior center managers and nutrition coordinators from DeKalb, Jackson, Limestone, Madison and Marshall counties held a quarterly training meeting at the office.

On Thursday, the training continued for our Medicaid Waiver Team with Emily Lewallyn, director of operations with GT Independence , a financial management service company focused on helping people self-direct their long-term care and support services at home or in community-based settings. We enjoyed having Emily on site to provide an overview and lessons a new software system the staff will transition to in the coming months.

And TARCOG hosted the July meeting of the Caring Connections Huntsville group, partnering with Gail Pulliam from Redstone Village, which provided lunch for the group. It was a great opportunity to network and learn about different services available in our community.
