Forty dollars can feel like a small amount. But month after month, joined with the generosity of others, it becomes something much bigger.

For 40 years, Dayspring has been a place where families facing some of life’s hardest moments can stay together, find care and stability, and have someone beside them as they begin moving toward a more hopeful future.

That impact doesn’t end when a family leaves our shelter. The care, encouragement, and belief they experience can travel with them long after they walk out our doors.

As we celebrate 40 years of Dayspring, we invite you to help begin the next chapter with a recurring gift of $40 a month to the Dayspring Legacy Fund. Your $40, joined with the gifts of others each month, can help make sure the next family who comes through our doors finds the same care, support, and hope.

Together, we can help make great things happen.

We are so grateful to the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir for choosing Dayspring Center as the beneficiary of Sing It Forward Week! đź’™

What a meaningful way to celebrate 90 years by bringing together music, service, and community. We are excited for the week ahead and incredibly thankful to everyone at ISC who is lending their time, voices, and hearts to support families experiencing homelessness.

We can’t wait to Sing It Forward together! 🎶

A 90th season calls for something new—and this season, we’re starting with community.

To celebrate 90 years of music and community, the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir is launching Sing it Forward Week, a brand-new service campaign benefiting Dayspring Center .

Dayspring provides emergency shelter for families experiencing homelessness, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each year, they support more than 250 families in the Indianapolis area, and this season, we’re proud to support their mission.

Throughout Sing It Forward Week, ISC puts music and service into action. And we’ll wrap up the week with our annual Community Sing at Blind Owl Brewery, bringing voices from across our community together for an afternoon of singing, connection, and celebration. 🎶

90 years of music. A new season of service. And a community we’re proud to sing alongside.

Faces of Hope: Deont’a
As Dayspring celebrates 40 years of helping families move through some of life’s most difficult moments, we’re honoring the people whose stories have become part of our own through our 40th Anniversary Faces of Hope.

Deont’a is one of those faces. Deont’a first came to Dayspring in 2008, when he was just eleven years old and in the fifth grade. His time at Dayspring was brief, but one experience would stay with him long after he left.

At Camp Discovery, Deont’a met Deborah, who led theater workshops for the campers. She introduced him to acting, and in the process, Deont’a discovered something about himself he hadn’t known before: he had a gift for the stage.

Years later, he could still trace the beginning of his acting journey back to that summer. “That was a full-circle moment,” Deont’a said. “That’s where I started my journey with acting.” As an adult, he went on to play Oscar Robertson in 'A Touch of Glory', a production telling the story of Indy’s first all-Black state championship team.

Looking back, Deont’a recognizes how much that summer at Dayspring shaped the person he would become. Meet one of our 40th Anniversary Faces of Hope and read Deont’a’s story in his own words.

From the first tee to the helicopter ball drop, we’re looking back at a day worth remembering.

The 2026 Dayspring Golf Classic.

Thank you to every golfer, volunteer, and sponsor who showed up and made it happen. This work doesn’t happen without you. And a big thank you to Will from The Addison Group for capturing the day so beautifully.

🏆 Winners in the comments.

More than a day on the course, this is 40 years of Indianapolis families staying together. Grateful for this community.

Today we’re excited to recognize four additional honorees as part of our Faces of Hope series. Their actions have helped shape Dayspring throughout the past four decades. 💛

Meet Charles Young – a past board member and long-time supporter of Dayspring, Joy Jamison, our current Shelter Program Manager, the incredible All Saints Episcopal Church, and former resident Deont’a. Follow us to hear their stories unfold over the next few weeks. 🙌

Sometimes, what you give someone during one of the hardest moments of their life stays with them long after that moment has passed.

A safe place to sleep. A family kept together. Someone who believes things can get better and, with support, works to build a way forward.

Roscoe’s story is a beautiful reminder of just how far that care can travel. The impact of Dayspring isn’t measured only by the days a family spends in the shelter. It lives on in the stability they build, the hope they carry forward, and the life that comes next.

For 40 years, generous people have helped make stories like this possible. As we celebrate this milestone, a recurring gift of $40 a month to the Dayspring Legacy Fund is a meaningful way to keep that care going, one family at a time.

Watch Roscoe’s story. Then imagine what your $40, joined with the generosity of others month after month, can make possible not just today, but for years to come. ❤️

⛳ What a day on the course.

The 2026 Dayspring Golf Classic was a wonderful success. Thank you to our title sponsor, RBC, for leading the way, and to every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, and supporter who showed up for Dayspring and the families we serve.

Your support helps us provide more than shelter. It helps families access the care and resources they need to move forward.

A beautiful day to celebrate 40 years of Dayspring. Thank you for making this one to remember. 💛

Dayspring’s history includes the many interns who have shared their time, talents, and hearts with our families.

By 2006, Dayspring was already welcoming university social work students to learn alongside our staff and experience firsthand what it means to walk beside families during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Those early student experiences have grown into an internship program that welcomes high school and college students each semester. They come ready to learn and eager to help.

Interns bring an extra set of hands, a listening ear, encouragement for a parent who needs it, and kindness and attention for a child who may be having a difficult day. They support our staff, build relationships with our residents, learn about leadership and service, and become part of the circle of care.

To every intern who has walked through our door over the years: thank you. ❤️
