Severe weather and flooding can disrupt more than property. They can affect housing, food, utilities, transportation, finances, and a family’s ability to recover and move forward.

Mumineen Community Development Corporation (MCDC) is sharing this Storm & Flood Recovery Resource Guide to help Hoosiers identify important state, federal, and community resources available following severe weather and flooding.

The guide includes information on:

• Temporary housing resources
• Indiana State Disaster Relief Fund emergency assistance
• Emergency SNAP replacement benefits
• Indiana 2-1-1 resources and damage reporting
• Insurance assistance and consumer protection resources
• Utility and basic-needs assistance
• Food, shelter, and cleanup resources
• State and federal disaster response information
• Local organizations and relief funds supporting affected communities

Recovery looks different for every household. Some families may be dealing with property damage. Others may have lost food during a power outage, need temporary housing, be struggling with utility disruptions, or simply not know what assistance is available.

Our goal with this resource guide is simple: put useful information in one place so more people know what resources may be available to them.

Programs, eligibility requirements, funding availability, deadlines, and relief locations may change. Please verify current information directly with the programs and agencies listed in the guide.

Recovery doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in community, through accountability, support, and meaningful connections.
At Mumineen Community Development Corporation (MCDC), we're creating intentional spaces where individuals can focus on personal growth, emotional wellness, recovery, and long-term success.

🔹 Recovery Circle 📅 Wednesdays | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM A guided peer support session focused on recovery, life challenges, goal setting, and practical strategies for sustainable growth.
🔹 Power Hour 📅 Fridays | 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM A powerful end-of-week session designed to help participants reset, refocus, and move forward with clarity, purpose, and confidence.

Thank you, Ericka and Michael, for your leadership and commitment to serving families and individuals throughout our community. I truly enjoyed the opportunity to sit down, exchange ideas, and explore how our organizations can work together more intentionally to support those navigating reentry and rebuilding their lives.

What stood out most from our conversation was the shared understanding that meaningful change happens when relationships come before programs and collaboration comes before competition. The needs are too great for any one organization to address alone, but together we can create pathways to housing, employment, recovery support, family reunification, and long-term stability.

Looking forward to what we can build together. 🤝🏾

We recently had a true "Meeting of the Minds" with Michael Drain, President & CEO of Step-Up Inc, and Raymond Powell, Community Development Executive and Founder of Mumineen Community Development Corporation, to discuss how we can continue working together to better support individuals navigating reentry.

Sometimes the most meaningful progress starts with a conversation.

These partnerships matter. In fact, we currently have two YYY dads actively participating with Step-Up, receiving support as they work toward stability and growth. Raymond and Ericka also serve as Housing Work Group Co-Leads with the Marion County Re-entry Coalition, where they continue advocating for solutions that strengthen our community.

When we work together, families and communities grow stronger.
