In the past 2 weeks, we have met with representatives from both FEMA and the US Small Business Administration. They are offering assistance for anyone who received physical damage from the August rains & flooding, as well as looking for businesses who may have suffered a loss due to that event.

FEMA is offering small cash grants to anyone who incurred physical damage to their structure. They are encouraging businesses to apply even if you don't think that you incurred damage as some damage may not present itself for several months, especially things like mold or foundation damage. Even if you just had to purchase something like a wet-dry vac to clean up some water, you may qualify. The deadline to apply is the end of October, but you have several months after that to see if damage becomes more evident. Visit www.DisasterAssistance.gov for more information.

If you are a business, the US Small Business Administration is offering loans for any business disruptions that you may have had. These loans are for 4-6% for the life of the loan. The best part is that they are 12-month deferred from payments and interest, and come with a 30 YEAR TERM. So if your business was closed for a period of time, you had a slow few days, business has been slow since then, or even if you had to pay your employees overtime during that period, you may qualify. Visit www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance for more information.
