Indiana Grown helps Hoosiers identify products grown, raised, produced or processed here in Indiana.

Indiana Grown is an all-inclusive collaborative initiative designed to promote Indiana produced agricultural products to Indiana residents, restaurants, grocery stores, farmer’s markets, wholesalers, processors and other retail businesses. Indiana is home to nearly 60,000 farms spanning 15 million acres growing more than 30 different fruits and vegetables, including corn and soybeans. Meanwhile, in the tenth-largest farm state of the U.S., in a country that prides itself on “feeding the world” — Indiana does not even feed itself. Hoosiers spend $16 billion per year buying food, $14.5 billion of which is sourced outside of the state. Indiana imports an estimated 90% of its food, so it is not unusual for a meal in Indiana to travel 1500 miles or more to reach the consumer, which may have an effect on nutritional value and taste. Consumers are faced with challenges every day, but their choice of food should not be one of those challenges. An enhanced Indiana Grown program will increase economic activity through the sale of Indiana products, and consumers will more fully understand how their choice to purchase foods from Indiana farms will positively impact their local economy. Indiana’s strong agricultural heritage will be preserved and thrive with the enhancement of the Indiana Grown program, which will promote nutritious locally grown foods, local employment opportunities, and economic growth, while building sustainable communities.

Indiana Grown Destination 📍Roberts Farms, Wawaka, Indiana

What started with a passion for agriculture has grown into one of northeast Indiana's favorite fall destinations. Owners Matt and Tracy Roberts, along with their daughter, are first-generation farmers who have turned their family farm into a place where visitors can experience agriculture firsthand.

Through their involvement in FFA, 4-H, and Farm Bureau, they developed a love for farming and a mission to help others connect with where their food comes from.

Today, Roberts Farms in Wawaka welcomes families from across the region to enjoy farm adventures, create memories, and learn about agriculture in a fun and engaging way. From Indiana's largest indoor hay maze and a corn maze to a pumpkin patch, farm animals, wagon rides, and more, there's something for everyone to enjoy this fall.

Whether you're searching for the perfect pumpkin or making family memories on the farm, Roberts Farms is a great way to celebrate the season and support Indiana agriculture.

October is National Pork Month! Indiana ranks among the top five pork-producing states in the nation. Did you know that Hoosier pork farmers market 8.5 million pigs annually, support more than 19,000 jobs, contribute over $3 billion to Indiana's economy, and exported $479 million in pork products in 2024.

Indiana Grown Member Spotlight 🔎 Willow Creek Acres Farm, Scottsburg, Indiana

When Kristyn Morrison and her family settled on 15 acres in Scottsburg, Indiana, they began with a vision of growing food, cultivating community, and making the most of the land around them. What started as a family farm producing vegetables and specialty crops soon expanded into a on-farm market and a growing commitment to sharing locally produced goods with their community.

As Willow Creek Acres grew, so did the opportunity to create something unique from the farm's pepper harvest. Through innovation, entrepreneurship, and a passion for agriculture, Kristyn Morrison transformed farm-grown peppers into handcrafted, small-batch sauces that capture the flavor and heritage of Southern Indiana.

Today, PASSAGER Pepper Sauce is crafted by hand at Willow Creek Acres in Scott County, Indiana. Inspired by the passenger pigeon and the stories woven throughout the region's landscape, each bottle reflects the farm's commitment to quality, stewardship, and local agriculture. Made with peppers grown on the farm and produced in small batches, PASSAGER offers more than heat. It offers a connection to the people and place behind every ingredient.

For Kristyn Morrison, every bottle is an extension of the farm's journey, from seeds planted in Southern Indiana soil to a finished product that can be shared around tables across the country. Indiana Grown Destination 📍Cornucopia Farm, Scottsburg, Indiana

Cornucopia Farm located in Scottsburg, Indiana is operated by Linda and Kevin Baird, who began growing pumpkins eventually expanding their property into a family friendly destination that now welcomes visitors of all ages. Over the years, the Baird family has introduced a wide range of fall activities, including corn and soybean mazes, wagon rides to a pick your own flowers and pumpkin patches.

Guests can spend time at the petting farm, where animals such as baby calves, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens help connect visitors to everyday farm life. Food options are available at the Cornucopia Café, which offers items like farm raised beef burgers, apple cinnamon donuts, and c***r slushies throughout regular admission hours along with products from other Indiana farms & artisans.

Fall hours run through September and October, Cornucopia Farm remains rooted in the Baird’s’ original goal: creating a place where families can spend time together, learn about agriculture, and enjoy approachable fall activities without complication.

Fun fact! They raise 18 acres of pumpkins & all pumpkins for sale are grown on their farm. Check out their website for more information or to plan your visit.

Join us for an in-person Retail Readiness Workshop!

Indiana Grown, Purdue Extension, and partners invite producers and food entrepreneurs to a full-day, in-person Retail Readiness Training on November 17, 2026, at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds. This interactive workshop will help you understand what retailers look for and how to successfully prepare your products for store shelves.

Participants will gain practical guidance on:
• Packaging and labeling
• Pricing and merchandising strategies
• Navigating wholesale, grocery, and specialty buyer relationships
• Strengthening brand presence and boosting sales
• Opportunity for your products to be evaluated and feedback provided by retail buyers

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (EST)
Location: Hendricks County Fairgrounds

Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch, and a networking event.
