OC Aging Services Collaborative The OCASC is a formalized group of over 40 not-for-profit agencies, serving older adults and family caregivers in Orange County.

We seek to enhance the quality of life for seniors!

My office will host our 19th Annual Senior Summit on October 23, 2026 from 9am-1pm at Aliso Viejo Ranch (100 Park Ave, Aliso Viejo).

Enjoy workshops on topics like aging over the decades starting with menopause to memory care, skin cancer prevention tips, Medi-Cal and CalFresh enrollment, free vaccinations and health screenings, and workshops and resources for disaster preparedness.

End the day with a free Jazzercise class to encourage movement at all ages.

I’m at the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California annual conference. So much excellent, essential information being provided, particularly about the significant changes coming in 2027 to the CA POLST form, and several sessions regarding the changes in regulations for hospice agencies in California, and tools for evaluating the quality of care provided by hospice agencies.
Stay tuned! Alzheimer’s Orange County and Hoag Palliative Care provide the leadership of the OC POLST Coalition, and a great deal of education will be forthcoming in our community. As one of a very few trained POLST Champion experts in Orange County, I am very excited about the improvements to the POLST document, and feel deep responsibility for ensuring people have the information they need to elect hospice care from agencies that have bonafide quality care, particularly in light of the fact that there are far too many hospices “serving” OC, and we still see some profoundly questionable practices. Quality measures matter! Watch for information on important offerings on these topics.

Whether you are an older adult, a family member, or a caregiver, join us to discover valuable local resources and connect directly with organizations dedicated to supporting older adults across Orange County.

Please note that this event will take place entirely indoors.

Join us, United to End Homelessness, North Orange Continuing Education, and the OC Hunger Alliance at PBS SoCal Talking Neighbor to Neighbor: Food & Community Health event on Tuesday, October 20th in Anaheim.

This free community event will bring together local voices for a conversation about food access, equity, systems change, and how our experiences can help shape healthier, more food secure communities. Our very own Alliance Director, Hallie Stohler-Plaza will be amongst the featured speakers representing the OC Hunger Alliance.
