Subject: Accident Fatality on Hwy 49 @ Cynthia Rd.

On Saturday, 05/30/2026 at 2130 hours, JPD responded to Highway 49 @ Cynthia Rd to the report a two-car collision.

Accident Investigators learned that a gray 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander was traveling south on Hwy 49 approaching Cynthia Road when a white 2023 Honda Accord, traveling west on Cynthia, crossed into the Mitsubishi’s lane of travel and the twovehicles collided.

The 18-year-old driver of the 2023 white Honda Accord was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Front passenger in the Honda Accord, 17-year-old female was fatally injured. The Hinds County Coroner took custody of the body of the deceased at the scene. Next of
kin has been notified.

Rear passenger of the Honda, a 15-year-old male sustained serious injuries and was transported to a
local hospital and was listed in stable/critical condition.

The Driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander complained of pain and was transported to a local hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Michael D. Johnson Foundation 5K Run/Walk in downtown Jackson this morning was amazing!!! Chief RaShall Brackney was honored to serve as the Grand Marshal. The JPD Traffic Unit was on point as always… Councilwoman Lashia Brown-Thomas and Councilman Kevin Parkinson got their steps in and the Photo Master, Jay Johnson, captured it all with his camera. MISSING PERSON

The Jackson Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating Isaiah Jackson, a 19-year-old Black male last seen on Thursday, May 28, 2026, on foot in the 4500 block of Belmede Place, Jackson, MS, in the company of his juvenile sister, who has also been reported missing.

Isaiah is 6'0", 180 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans.

The Jackson Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating Erica Jackson, a 16-year-old female last seen on Thursday, May 28, 2026, walking away from the 4500 block of Belmede Place, Jackson, MS, with her 19-year-old brother, Isaiah Jackson, who has also been reported missing.

Erica is 5'5", 120 lbs., with braided hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a tan hoodie, blue jeans, and black Crocs.
