This National Police Week, we pause to recognize the men and women behind the badge who choose service, sacrifice, and compassion every single day.

Law enforcement is more than responding to emergencies — it’s building trust, helping neighbors through difficult moments, protecting the vulnerable, and standing ready when our community needs us most. The work is often unseen, the hours long, and the challenges difficult, but our officers continue to show up with professionalism and heart.

We also remember and honor the officers across our nation who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

To all law enforcement professionals, dispatchers, victim advocates, CSOs, animal shelter staff, volunteers, and the families who support them behind the scenes — thank you for your commitment to serving others.

From all of us at the Jackson Police Department, thank you for your support and partnership. Together, we make our community stronger.

Please join us in welcoming Andie Abad as the newest Intern with the Jackson Police Department! Andie will soon be graduating from the Community School and plans to attend Montana State University, where she will be double majoring in criminal justice and psychology. Andie was also selected as a recipient of the law-enforcement scholarship, and we are hopeful that after graduation, we will have the opportunity to welcome her back to our team full-time. We are grateful for Andie’s many contributions to the department already and wish her continued success as she begins this exciting next chapter. Congratulations, Andie!

*** Thursday, April 23rd - 10am - 3pm - 150 East Pearl Avenue ( Town Hall/Jackson Police Department) *** Drug Take Back Day, gives the public a safe and anonymous way to dispose of unused or expired medications. Proper disposal helps prevent prescription drug misuse, reduces the risk of accidental poisoning, and keeps medications out of the wrong hands. It also protects the environment by ensuring drugs aren’t flushed or thrown in the trash. A simple step that makes a real impact on community safety.

Spring is training time at the Jackson Police Department. First we would like to welcome Officer Max and Officer Marshall to our ranks. They recently completed the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in Douglas. They will now work on completing the field training program, which is up to 14 weeks of working with a senior officer learning the job in Jackson.

Next, we want to congratulate Sgt. Kyle on his completion of the FBI's Hazardous Device School. This 8 week program prepares Sgt. Kyle to be attached to the Region 8 Emergency Response Team (RERT) as part of the explosives team.

Last, police chief Michelle Weber, one detective, one patrol officer, and one member of our professional staff have been attending the National Association of Women in Law Enforcement annual conference. NAWLEE was founded to support, develop, and advance women leaders in law enforcement.
