This Thankful Tuesday, we want to thank the New River YMCA - Onslow, Jacksonville Police Department, and Catalyst Church for donating back-to-school items for families in our care.

Because of their generosity, children staying in our Safe House will have backpacks, lunch bags, and school supplies as they begin a new school year.

These gifts help ease one piece of the back-to-school season for families who are already carrying so much.

We are grateful for community partners who continue showing up for the people we serve.

National Nonprofit Day gives us a chance to reflect on the impact of being here for survivors when life has changed in ways they never expected.

For more than four decades, Onslow Victims Center has walked alongside people facing violence, crisis, uncertainty, and the difficult work of rebuilding what comes next.

Our impact is found in every survivor who has reached out and found someone on the other end ready to help. It is found in the safety created, the choices restored, and the lives that continue moving forward.

We are proud to serve Onslow County and deeply grateful to the community that helps make this work possible. 💜🩵

Which transformation are you looking forward to most?

This Thrifty Thursday, we are taking one more look at the “before” pieces selected by this year’s teams.

The halfway check-in is only two weeks away, and we are excited to see how these transformations are coming together.

Silent auction and voting will take place September 7 through September 21.

This Wellness Wednesday, we are highlighting what it means to be trauma-informed.

For OVC, trauma-informed support means meeting survivors with respect and understanding. It means knowing that every survivor’s story is their own, and every next step should move at their pace.

A survivor should never feel pressured, judged, or rushed when reaching out for help.

Onslow Victims Center provides free and confidential support for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

This Mission Monday, we want to thank the MSKA Lejeune Kickball League for contributing to OVC’s urgent needs list.

We are especially grateful to Jenn Wisely from their board and to everyone who helped meet this need for the survivors and families we serve.

Support like this helps us continue providing safe shelter and free, confidential services in our community. MSKA Lejeune is also continuing to help with our mission and urgent needs in the coming weeks, and we are so thankful for their support.
