Thankful Tuesday goes to the LikeMinded Alliance for hosting the Juneteenth Unity Fest last Friday at Riverwalk Park.

It was meaningful to be part of a community event centered on freedom and reflection.

Onslow Victims Center was grateful for the opportunity to share resources and connect with community members who may need support or know someone who does.

Thank you to Linda and Lydia’s Ladies of Cape Carteret Baptist Church for donating handmade stuffed animals for families staying in our Safe House.

This Thrifty Thursday, we’re highlighting some of the faces behind the work of Finders Keepers Thrift Store.

From staff to volunteers, every person who sorts donations, helps customers, organizes the store, and shows up with care plays a part in supporting the mission of Onslow Victims Center.

Finders Keepers is more than a thrift store. It helps provide free, confidential services for survivors in our community, and it gives survivors a place to shop at no cost when they need support most.

We are grateful for the people who make this work possible every day.

For survivors, healing should not come with pressure to move faster, explain more, or follow a path someone else decided for them.

At Onslow Victims Center, survivor-centered care means listening first and honoring what feels safest for each person.

Having choices can be part of healing because autonomy matters.

Free summer meals are available for children and teens 18 and under in Onslow County, provided by New River YMCA - Onslow and United Way of Onslow County.

Families can visit these local meal sites this summer:

Agape Life Family Church
220 Francktown Road
Thursdays
2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
June 11 to August 20
Free 7 day meal pick up through New River YMCA

Pre-registration is suggested to save time at pick up. Boxes are first come, first served, and registration does not guarantee a box.
