Join us this Saturday after the Buffalo Days Parade for our annual Pancake Feed at the Fire Hall!

Bring your family and friends for a hot breakfast, visit with your local firefighters, and help support the department.

We’ll be serving pancakes, sausage, and all the fixings.

We’d love to see you there. Come hungry and help us make it a great community event!

🚜 Timely maintenance helps prevent baler fires 🚜

Recent rainfall brought relief and green grasses, but this extreme heat is rapidly drying out parts of the state with the drought monitor showing abnormally dry, moderate, and even severe drought.

Regardless of moisture conditions, baler fires have begun occurring.

Work through this fire prevention checklist for balers to keep you, your lands, and equipment safe this summer:

- Remove trash and plant material accumulation on the baler
- Carry a fire extinguisher at all times where it is easily accessible, charged, and in current working order
- Carry water and a shovel to use if a fire should ignite
- Inspect bearings, chains, hoses, belts for wear and make sure net wrap and twine isn't wrapped around rollers
- Be careful to not overfill the fuel tank. Immediately repair leaks and clean spills
- Call 911 right away if a fire starts. They would rather turn around than show up late to an out of control wildland fire

The Jamestown Community Foundation has awarded a $2,500 grant to the Jamestown Rural Fire Department to support the purchase of battery-operated extrication tools and stabilization equipment.

The equipment will help the department respond to vehicle crashes and other emergency situations where access, rescue, and scene safety are critical.

Battery-operated tools give firefighters more flexibility during emergency response, especially in rural areas where speed, mobility, and reliable equipment matter. Stabilization equipment also helps create safer conditions for firefighters, victims, and other emergency responders on scene.

The Jamestown Community Foundation supports local projects and programs through grant funding. Information about the foundation, grant guidelines, and applications is available at www.ndcf.net

Your local JRFD Firefighters spent the day expending their knowledge on auto extrication. We practiced on stabilization, side removal, roof removal, dash lifts, patient care and simulated an electric vehicle extrication. Thank you to our NDFA Instructors Joe and Eric. These guys were super knowledgeable and helpful in answering our questions!!

Thank you to Gerdau Metal Recycling for helping us get cars and the use of your facility.

Thank you to Gordon's towing for providing us with a Semi.
