Grief is a universal experience, but also an individual one. Join a Bereavement Coordinator from Residential Hospice to navigate grief at the library. Whether it's the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, or any other type of grief, this group will be a safe place for you to navigate a difficult experience. Registration is required. This program will be held over a three-month block of bi-weekly sessions. The dates are below:

▪️September 2 at 6:00 P.M. (Discussion & Activity: Introduction to Journaling. Journals provided).
▪️September 16 at 2:00 P.M. (Discussion & Activity Journaling continued)
▪️October 7 at 6:00 P.M. (Discussion & Activity: Write a Letter to Your Loved One)
▪️October 21 at 2:00 P.M.(Discussion & Activity: Colors and Emotions with Affirmations)
▪️November 4 at 6:00 P.M. (Discussion & Activity: TBA)

SAVE THE DATE! 📢📅 The annual 𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗢 with state and local legislators and the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the The Marketplace at Steamtown, 300 Lackawanna Ave., Scranton. Featuring over 70 vendors, free parking, bag lunches and transportation from local senior centers.

Jessup Borough is accepting letters of interest to fill one (1) vacancy and one (1) alternate vacancy on the Civil Service Commission. Interested residents should submit their letters of interest outlining their experience to Jessup Borough, 395 Lane Street, Jessup, PA 18434 or email to [email protected] by 08/27/2026.

The Borough of Jessup is accepting applications for part time crossing guards for the 2026-2027 Valley View School District Calendar.

Applicants must be available on school days in all weather conditions for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon, and successfully pass criminal background clearances.

Rate is $22.00 per day with no benefits provided.

Applications are available at the Jessup Municipal Building located at 395 Lane Street, Jessup, PA 18434.

Please submit completed applications to the Borough by no later than Thursday, 08/27/2026.
