📣 Job Alert: The City of Elizabethton is looking for a Part-Time Library Clerk/Special Collections Librarian.

📚 The Position: The Part-Time Library Clerk/Special Collections Librarian supports the primary function of the library by providing front-line customer service to all patrons while also helping to manage, maintain, and preserve the library’s genealogy and local history room. This position combines front-facing public service of a library clerk with more behind-the-scenes work of genealogy and local history research.

Responsibilities:
Assisting with maintenance of the library’s genealogy and local collection
Provide reference assistance in person and over the phone
Assist patrons with accessing and interpreting special collections
Apply for and manage grants to support digitization projects
Curate exhibits and displays in the library as requested
Other duties as assigned

Skills:
Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with the public
Good attention to detail
Ability to lift, carry, and shelve materials up to 30 pounds

Requirements: An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field with strong communication, basic computer skills, customer service skills, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications: Library service, archives, or special collections experience

Rate of Pay: $13.67 per hour

It's almost time for Pickin; on the Porch! Every Second and Fourth Tuesday in June, July and August, we'll gather in the grass lot out back. The JAM pickers will start us off at 6:00 and then local bands take turns playing until 8:00. Come hungry for hotdogs or soup beans and cornbread and enjoy a whole lot of pickin' and grinnin'!
