~vital information for vital generations.
🌱 The garden is really starting to come alive! 🌱
Last week was one of those days that reminds you what community is all about.
We had a fantastic turnout, built several new garden beds, shared plenty of laughs, and made huge progress together. Every week, the Fremont Street Community Garden looks a little different—and a little more beautiful—thanks to the people who show up and lend a hand.
This week is especially exciting because we have LOTS of plants ready to go into the ground! Thanks to the hard work of our Garden Coordinator, Diane Meade, and generous donations from local nurseries, we're getting ready to fill those beds with vegetables, flowers, and all kinds of growing things. 🌻🍅🥬
We're also tackling one more big bed for squash, pumpkins, and watermelon, and we'd love your help!
🪴 Garden Hours This Week:
📅 Tuesday: 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
📅 Thursday: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Come for 15 minutes or stay the whole time—every helping hand makes a difference.
And here's a special request...
🌳 WE NEED WOOD CHIPS! 🌳
If you know any tree service companies, arborists, or "tree guys," please let them know we're happy to take wood chips all season long. They can dump them on the grass beside the garden sign.
Why do we love wood chips so much? Because every pile of mulch means fewer weeds for all of us to pull later. That's a win-win in my book! 😄
We're also considering adding Saturday morning garden hours. Would you come? Let us know in the comments!
I'm so excited about what we're building together this year. It's more than a garden—it's neighbors helping neighbors, learning together, and creating something we can all be proud of.
Hope to see you in the garden this week! 💚🌱
