It's Alaska Clean Energy Week!
Did you know Alaska is filled with more sustainable energy potential than nearly any place on earth?
That potential includes generation from renewable sources such as wind, solar, hydro, tidal, biomass, geothermal, and hydrogen sources, but it also includes nuclear, oil, natural gas, coal, and carbon capture technologies as well as energy storage.
I encourage all Alaskans to support common sense solutions to develop sustainable energy for our future.

What a pleasure it was to meet with four young Alaskans this week who recently competed in the 2026 Patriot Games. The 2026 Patriot Games were a national high school athletic competition held in Geneva, Ohio, celebrating America's 250th anniversary with a $250,000 scholarship prize pool.

Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, BLM Alaska continues to prioritize safe, environmentally responsible energy development in an area specifically set aside for oil and gas exploration and production.

The proposed rule aims to cut red tape and accelerate infrastructure development across the 23-million-acre National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska.

Legislative leadership, particularly in the state Senate, had one job to do during the special session that ends today.

Advance a clean Alaska LNG bill to make the project more economic and in turn secure affordable, reliable energy for Alaskans, or load the bill down with an S Corp tax that killed the legislation.

They chose the latter.

A natural gas pipeline has been a goal for our state for more than 50 years. Many governors have tried but this administration advanced the project further than ever before.

So now here’s the question. What is the legislature’s plan to keep the lights and heat on when Cook Inlet gas runs short?
Alaskans need to ask their legislators what their plan is to supply gas to our homes and businesses when temperatures plunge during the long, cold winters.

The clock is ticking. The problem is real. And Alaska needs solutions—not more political roadblocks.
