We might see some sunshine this weekend! ☀️ Stop by the arboretum and see what's blooming. We are open through Sunday, including the Juneteenth holiday tomorrow, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

And don't forget, the free, outdoor edition of the Piano Series with Jon Hays is this Saturday, June 20, at 3 p.m.

Bright summer colors are starting to appear: Red Rhododendron ‘Baden Baden’, bright yellow Polychrome euphorbia, and Pulmonaria ‘Salmon Glow’ can be seen with other white and purple Pulmonaria.

Ukrainian musicians Ostrap and Solomia visited the Arboretum and treated us to an impromptu musical performance! They shared their talents and some details about the instrument they play, the Bandura.

Bandura Arts musicians were in Juneau for a special concert in conjunction with the JAHC last weekend. You can learn more about the Ukrainian instrument at bandurarts.org

Our Arboretum Manager, Ginger, led a guided walk to share her expertise on some of the native plants found at the park. A few highlights included Cassiope, mountain bell heather; Licorice fern; and the diminutive Alpine Azalea.
