Texas Township Fire-Rescue The Texas Township Fire Department serves a geographical area of 36 square miles of Texas Charter Township in Kalamazoo county.

Texas Township Fire Department serves a geographical area of 36 square miles of the geopolitical subdivision of Texas Charter Township in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. The area is rapidly developing with a mix of largely residential and light commercial construction. This development is progressing from east to west. The eastern and northern areas of the Township have condensed areas of residential platted areas, areas of neighborhood businesses, and an a freeway interchange area with a community college, corporate bank headquarters, major food distribution center and other commercial businesses. The western and southern fringe areas of the Township are still largely agricultural with a sprinkling of residential development.

Join the Texas Township Fire Department THIS SATURDAY, October 17, from 11 AM–3 PM for our Fire Prevention Haunted House!

🦇 Follow the bats through our Haunted Hazard Bat Hunt and discover household fire hazards hiding in plain sight!
🚒 Turn in your completed scavenger hunt for a chance to win a ride to school in a Texas Township fire truck! A winner will be drawn and notified to arrange the ride.
🏰 Enjoy a bounce house provided by Chucta Rentals!
🍎 Treat yourself to apple c***r and donuts donated by Schultz Farms!

🚨❤️ Community Partnerships Save Lives ❤️🚨

We were honored to welcome the Rotary Club of Portage to the Texas Township Fire Station this evening. As the club explores opportunities to establish a satellite club in Texas Township, they have already made a tremendous impact on our community.

As part of a service project, Rotary members not only collected smoke detectors for local residents, but also generously donated $500 to support our smoke detector program.

Many residents may not be aware that the Michigan Prevention Smoke Detector Program was eliminated due to state budget cuts. While that funding has disappeared, the need for working smoke detectors in our homes has not.

Your Texas Township Firefighters are committed to filling that gap and developing a new community smoke detector program to help keep our residents safe. The Rotary Club's generosity provides the perfect spark to help launch this important initiative.

We are incredibly grateful for their support, partnership, and commitment to making our community safer.

This donation is more than just funding, it's the seed that will help grow a program that saves lives.
