3d Marine Littoral Regiment The 3d Marine Littoral Regiment is the inaugural MLR of the United States Marine Corps

The 3d Marine Littoral Regiment is the inaugural MLR of the United States Marine Corps based at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, falling under the 3rd Marine Division and the III Marine Expeditionary Force. As designed, the 3d MLR is comprised of a headquarters element and three subordinate commands. These subordinate commands are the 3rd Littoral Anti-Air Battalion, the Combat Logistics Battalion 3; and the Littoral Combat Team 3.

Modernization in action

U.S. Marines assigned to 3rd Littoral Combat Team, 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, use a Neros Archer striker variant drone on simulated targets during a live-fire range at Fort Magsaysay, Philippines, June 3, 2026.

Developed in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the range enabled Marines to integrate reconnaissance and precision targeting capabilities while improving small-unit proficiency. Opportunities to train in the Philippines enhance readiness and improve the ability of allied forces to operate together in support together in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.

To our 3d MLR families:

We are aware of the earthquakes in the Philippines and the resulting tsunami advisories. The command is actively monitoring the situation and coordinating with leaders on the ground to maintain accountability of our Marines and Sailors.

With the earthquake being so far south of our positions, we do not assess any impacts at this time. We will continuing to gather information and will share updates through official channels if conditions change.

People first, mission always. 🇵🇭🇺🇸

3rd Littoral Combat Team, 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, hosted a relief and appointment ceremony, May 17, 2026, and a change of command ceremony, May 18, 2026, alongside leaders from 4th Marine Brigade at Camp Cape Bojeador, Philippines.

The passing of the sword, symbolizing the transfer of authority and responsibility, was conducted between 1st Sgt. Christopher Lee and Sgt. Maj. Christian Hutson. The change of command ceremony formally transferred authority and responsibility from Lt. Col Timothy Love to Lt. Col Robert Wallace.

U.S. service members transport a Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System assigned to 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment on a U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft assigned to 733rd Air Mobility Squadron during Exercise Balikatan 2026 to Itbayat, Philippines, April 25, 2026.

Balikatan is a longstanding annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military that represents the strength of our alliance, improves our capable combined force, and demonstrates our commitment to regional peace and prosperity.

U.S. Marines with 3rd Littoral Combat Team, 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, operate first-person view drones during the Marine Corps Attack Drone Competition at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, March 12, 2026.

During a two-week period, the Marine Corps Attack Drone Team trained and certified U.S. Marines assigned to 3rd LCT as attack drone operators, attack drone instructors, and payload specialist instructors increasing 3rd MLR's lethality and capacity of trained and certified attack drone operators and instructors.
