We are so excited to have Leanna Turner as our 4-H Summer Intern:
Hello! My name is Leanna Turner, and I am from Atkinson, North Carolina. I am currently a student at North Carolina State University studying Crop and Soil Science with a concentration in Agronomy and a minor in Extension Education. I have a passion for agriculture and enjoy learning about soil fertility, crop management, nutrient management, and ways to help producers improve crop production through research-based practices. I especially enjoy hands-on learning, working outdoors, and connecting research with real-world agriculture. At NC State, I have gained experience through coursework, leadership, and outreach opportunities. I enjoy working with people and hope to pursue a future career in agricultural consulting or Extension, where I can help connect research and education with practical farming solutions. Outside of academics, I enjoy serving as Vice President of the Pack Clogging club at NC State, teaching clogging classes to younger students, and giving back to my home community through the Atkinson Fire Department and Haw Bluff Baptist Church. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, being involved in my community, and helping others whenever I can. Through these experiences, I have developed strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills that I look forward to continuing to grow in both agriculture and community outreach.
