* Two years post-secondary education in a technical or scientific field or equivalent

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - DAYS for the City of Ketchikan, Public Works Streets Division. Regular full-time, Mon-Fri, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; $27.64- $30.69/hr DOQ plus excellent benefits.

Ability to perform maintenance and construction tasks on streets, public buildings, bridges, sewers, and other public facilities.
Require skills necessary to operate trucks of 30,000 lb. GVW range, heavy equipment and power tools.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen.
Must possess a valid Alaska driver’s license or be able to obtain upon hire and have a good driving record; must be able to obtain a CDL within six months of hire.

Planned Power Outage 2 am to 5 am Tuesday 9/22/26 to complete critical underground electrical repairs. Be aware of trucks and workers at the intersection of Main and Dock. This will affect many downtown streets: Front St from Sockeye Sams south, Main, Stedman to the UAS building, Deermount and adjacent streets, Fair, portions of Park near the ballpark, Mill, Creek, Thomas, Bawden from the firestation to Dock Street, Dock from Front to Main.
