Update for August 7-10 Weekend ONLY: Due to the forecast of inclement weather, this weekend’s full closure of James White Parkway southbound has been postponed. Motorists should instead anticipate single lane closures nightly between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8, and between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Sunday, August 9.
MAJOR CLOSURE ALERT FOR KNOX COUNTY. For the next four weeks, James White Parkway will have one-direction closures for bridge repairs we need to get done before the start of UT football season. See the schedule below.
Southbound: August 7-10 and 14-17
Northbound: August 21-24 and 28-31
Ramp closures will also impact eastbound travel options in Downtown Knoxville. The full closure map is in the comments. Motorists can bypass the work zone by using Alcoa Highway (US 129/SR 115) or Hall of Fame Drive.
This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Should any of this work require rescheduling, it will not take place during a Tennessee football home game weekend.
