Great news for District 33 and La Luz Elementary! 👏📚

Last night, my team attended the Alamogordo Public Schools Board meeting, where La Luz Elementary was recognized with an impressive statewide spotlight!

NMPED featured La Luz among the 20 small schools statewide with the highest one-year literacy proficiency growth.

📚 +15.5 percentage points in literacy proficiency
📚 55% literacy proficiency in 2026
📚 100% assessment participation among 174 students
📚 14th among the top 20 schools in the statewide small-school literacy growth highlight
