The Charles County Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to cancel the proposed Commissioner President Candidate Debate that had been scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2026. The Chamber extended invitations to all certified candidates for Commissioner President and established a response deadline. Unfortunately, the Chamber did not receive a response from all candidates. Therefore, the Chamber, in fairness to all candidates and the business community, has determined not to move forward with this event.

As a nonpartisan business organization, the Charles County Chamber of Commerce remains committed to providing opportunities for all citizens, specifically the business community, to hear directly from candidates through professional, respectful, and balanced forums. We appreciate the participation of all candidates who engaged in the Chamber’s candidate forum process during this election season.

We also thank our members and community partners for their continued support and understanding.
