STEM community event!

The City of Lake Charles’ Partners in Parks initiative and Phillips 66 are teaming up to host “Phillips 66 STEM Family Fun Day in the Park” on Saturday, May 30, from 8:30 -10:30 a.m. This free event will take place at Drew Park, 416 Dr. Michael DeBakey Dr.

Families are invited to join in on the summer morning fun with a host of activities, including Chuck the Train, snacks and a wide variety of STEM activities. Children will learn how to make elephant toothpaste, glitter slime, lava lamps, fire snakes, volcanos, dry ice bubbles and have sensory play; and the best part is parents do not have to clean up any of the mess!

The Children’s Museum will be onsite with refinery engineering and fossil dig activities. Children can also board a Phillips 66 fire truck. Guests can enjoy snacks such as cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones. Lake Charles Coca-Cola is providing beverages.

Special thanks to King’s Funeral Home for showing appreciation to the teachers of John F. Kennedy Early Learning Center during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Mr. Elijah Guillory visited our campus to present each teacher with a token of appreciation and personally shared words of gratitude with every classroom. We truly appreciate this thoughtful gesture and the support shown to our teachers.

The Prince Hall Masons demonstrated their appreciation for the staff of John F. Kennedy Early Learning Center by generously donating donuts, kolaches, and beverages. The staff greatly enjoyed the meal and sincerely appreciated the thoughtful gesture. During their visit, the brothers exemplified their dedication to community service and their strong commitment to education. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Brothers of Prince Hall Freemasonry for their kindness, support, and continued commitment to serving the community.
