This past Tuesday, we had the pleasure of hosting the special needs class from Crichfield Elementary School. It was a wonderful visit as we gave them a tour of the station and let them spray a little water. Their smiles made our day!

Thank you, L.O.V.E.S.!

The Center Township Fire Department was grateful to receive some much-needed snacks this week from the L.O.V.E.S. group at The First Church of God here in La Porte!

We were honored to be included in their efforts as a thank-you for the extra time and effort our department contributed during the August storms. We truly appreciate their generosity and their mission to support our local emergency services.

We can assure you these snacks will be put to good use!

Thank you, L.O.V.E.S., for thinking of us, supporting our firefighters, and showing your appreciation for those who serve our community. Your kindness means a lot to us!

Another great night of training with Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department and Mitchell Powell from Genesis Rescue Systems. We had the opportunity to work with some of our newer firefighters while also testing new equipment as we evaluate potential upgrades to our rescue tools. Training and continuous improvement remain key to serving our community safely and effectively.

The Center Township Fire Department was honored and humbled to be included in the La Porte Slicer Football Salute to Service on Friday night.

The evening was a meaningful opportunity to recognize and honor all those who serve our community and communities beyond. We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to serve and protect such a supportive and caring community.

Thank you to all our police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and emergency personnel for your continued service, dedication, and commitment to our community. Your courage and willingness to serve others do not go unnoticed.

As we remember September 11th, please join us in honoring the lives of all those who were lost on that tragic day 25 years ago, as well as the countless heroes who answered the call to serve.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Yesterday at approximately 11:00 a.m., our department was dispatched to a possible structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found smoke showing from the residence and quickly initiated an interior fire attack to locate the seat of the fire.
After the main body of fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered that the fire had extended into the attic space. Crews worked diligently to access the affected areas, contain the extension, and fully extinguish the remaining fire.
All occupants had safely evacuated the home prior to our arrival, and thankfully, no injuries were reported.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the following agencies for their assistance and support during this incident:
•Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department
•LaPorte City Fire Department
•Kankakee Township Fire Department
•Coolspring Volunteer Fire Department Inc.
•Scipio Township Volunteer Fire Department
•LaPorte County EMS
•LaPorte County Sheriff's Office
•LaPorte County E911
We are grateful for the teamwork and cooperation that help keep our community safe.
