⚡It's Electrical Safety Month ⚡

A few quick safety checks can help prevent electrical fires:

🔌 Don’t overload outlets or extension cords
💡 Use the correct wattage light bulbs
🔥 Watch for warning signs like warm outlets, flickering lights, sparks, or burning smells
🧸 Keep children away from outlets and electrical cords
🏠 Make sure cords aren’t running under rugs or across doorways
⚠️ Plug only one heat-producing appliance into an outlet at a time
✅ Test and maintain GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoor areas

If something doesn’t seem right, contact a qualified electrician.

Firefighter/Paramedic Bill Edling still answers the call — even when he’s off duty.

While out to dinner, Bill heard someone yell for help after a man suddenly became unresponsive. Without hesitation, he stepped in, started CPR, and stayed with the patient until local paramedics arrived. The patient later made a full recovery.

For his actions, FF Edling was named the 2026 Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services Paramedic of the Year.

Congratulations, Bill! Thank you for continuously demonstrating the compassion, professionalism, and commitment that define the values of Largo Fire Rescue.
