We offer monthly adult programming September - April, our successful Summer Reading Program in June and July, a book club that meets once a month, as well as offering eBooks through the Southern Illinois Libraries on the Go consortium. We

have access to several different databases. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff can help you find what you need.

The book club's June choice was West with the Night, a memoir by Beryl Markham. A pioneer in aviation, Markham spent most of her childhood in East Africa in the early 1900's. She hunted with tribesmen as a child, trained horses for racing at age 18, and was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic from east to west. The book club enjoyed reading about this adventurous woman and several members really liked her writing style, while others thought it was a bit too descriptive and wordy. The club's rating was 4.33 out of 5, while the Goodread rating is 4.16.
