Utah Adoption Specialists UAS specializes in the preparation of domestic and international adoption home studies, annual home study updates, and post placement supervision.

We offer professional casework and ongoing support to the families we serve. We cover the entire state of Utah! The Utah Adoption Specialists provide compassionate casework for families and individuals pursuing adoption throughout the state of Utah. Services include domestic and international home study summaries, annual home study updates, and post placement supervision. UAS was founded by a team

of 4 social workers who have over 30 years of combined experience working with adoptive families. We have now grown to a team of 10 including our wonderful contractors, all with years of adoption experience! We are licensed and insured in the state of Utah. Fees:
Domestic Home Studies $750
International Home Studies $950+
Annual Home Study Updates $300+
Post Placement Supervision-
Domestic $200/visit
International $200/visit

Utah Adoption Specialists is not a child placing agency; we cannot provide child matching services, but we do provide services for birth parents, including counseling, expense management, and relinquishment services. Some common questions about open adoption contact after an adoption placement, and our best advice we give adoptive families.

💚 Keep the child at the center. — Make decisions based on what supports their well-being, safety, identity, and relationships.
💚 Choose connection over obligation. — When possible, let updates, photos, and communication be an expression of love and a way of honoring your child’s story.
💚 Honor the commitments you make. — Treat the PACA as an important promise to your child and their birth family. Following through on your commitments builds trust and strengthens relationships, while not following through can create hurt, disappointment, and distrust over time.
💚 Communicate clearly. — Establish clear expectations around frequency of updates, photos, letters, phone calls, video chats, visits, etc.
💚 Be open to changes over time. — As the relationship grows, the updates may naturally become more organic.
💚Sometimes you may not get a response. — Birth parents might need space to grieve, or go through seasons where they might not want as frequent of updates. Be patient, understanding, and save those updates and photos for when they are ready.
💚Hire the right professionals. — Make sure you are working with an attorney who specializes in adoption law with much experience with Post Adoption Contact Agreements.

Join us in celebrating The S Family’s 2nd placement and their unique matching story.

Mama “M” was considering adoption as an option for her pregnancy. She reached out to her best friend since childhood, “E” for advice. Mama “E” had just placed her baby for for adoption with the “S” Family. After reviewing other adoptive families, she elected to place her baby boy with the “S” Family as well! 

These sweet brothers are just 10 months apart, and are surrounded by so much love! 💚

Open adoption isn’t about replacing one family with another—it’s about surrounding a child with more love, honesty, and connection. When it’s safe and healthy for everyone involved, open adoption allows birth parents and adoptive parents to work together with one shared goal: helping a child grow up knowing they are deeply loved.

Get to know Team Wood! A UAS Home Study Approved family looking to adopt again!

Hello – we are the Wood family!
Spending time together as a family outdoors while making memories together, is what we truly love and enjoy doing! Our favorite outdoor activities include hiking, endless games of hide and seek, camping, picnics, visiting various National and State parks, bike rides, raising flower and vegetable gardens.

As a family, we love reading books together, spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen while preparing daily family meals.We are weekend adventure seekers! You can find us at the local rodeos, various county, craft and book fairs.

Our home is often filled with laughter and love. We encourage open communication, support, gospel learning, curiosity, trust, adventure, and fun. In our home we encourage unique talents, and interests. Family is what we treasure the very most! We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.We make an honest effort to instill positive communication with one another.

Tyler works as a Financial Analyst. Rachael is currently a stay-at-home mom and cherishes her time with their precious son, while keeping her teaching skills sharp in her homeschooling efforts.

We recognize we are very blessed to have adopted our precious son. He is such a joy and a blessing to our family! He loves the outdoors, tractors, bugs, creating various machines with Legos, trains, and animals.

Being adoptive parents, we place substantial value on the importance of open adoptions. The essential role birth parents and their family play in the adopted child’s life is extremely important. We have an open adoption with our son’s birth family. We will honor your own wishes for contact. We know that God has orchestrated this miracle and we feel that there is another precious miracle out there to join our forever family.

Meet a UAS Home Study Approved Family.

Hello 👋 We’re Rob and Tae, and we’re hoping to adopt!

Family has always been at the heart of our lives. We both come from large families and love the time we spend together. For many years, we’ve hoped and prayed for the opportunity to become parents. After experiencing infertility and loss, our hearts have been led to adoption.

We truly believe that family is built on love and we’re excited to create a home filled with warmth, faith, and joy. Our home will be a place where a child feels safe, supported, and deeply loved. Tae has a nurturing and patient heart and has always dreamed of being a mother. Rob loves making people laugh and finds a lot of joy in helping others.
We were married in the Provo Utah Temple in 2014, and since then our relationship has grown through adventures, challenges, laughter, and a lot of love. Tae has a degree in Family Studies and works as an Underwriter, and Rob has a degree in Exercise Science along with an MBA and works as a Deal Desk Analyst. We are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and participate in weekly Church service along with daily scripture study and prayer.

Together, we enjoy watching sports, exercising, listening to audiobooks, watching movies and plays, and spending time outdoors gardening, hiking, camping. We look forward to sharing the simple meaningful daily moments of life like family dinners, bedtime stories, and family walks.

It’s Featured Family Friday - where we share about one of the prospective adoptive families working with UAS. Meet The Crook Family They are home study approved and ready to adopt again!

Hi!! We’re Braden, Tessa, and Kayson 🤍
We’re so grateful (and excited!) to be on this journey again as we grow our family through adoption for the second time.

We both grew up in Herriman, Utah, and met back in 2018. After getting married in 2020, we stayed close to home—never more than about 30 minutes away—and built a life we truly love. Our home is full of laughter, energy, and lots of play.

Our days usually look like dance parties in the kitchen, games of “chase,” and whatever sport Kayson is currently loving (lately it’s baseball and soccer ⚾️⚽️). We love being outside—whether it’s swimming, bike rides, hiking, camping, or just going for a drive up in the mountains.

We are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and love spending time serving and being with the youth in our community.

Adoption has already blessed our lives in the most incredible way, and we feel so honored to be on this path again. We are committed to providing a home filled with love, stability, laughter, and support—a place where a child will always feel safe, cherished, and deeply valued.
We know this journey can come with many emotions and challenges, and we want you to know we see you, we care about you, and we pray for you daily 🤍

For some Birth Moms, Mother’s Day is a difficult reminder, and a holiday she might embrace or maybe feel awkward about celebrating. To a birth mother who sees this post, we hope you feel seen and appreciated this weekend.

Ways to honor and acknowledge your child’s birth mother today and every day:
🌼 Write and send a meaningful card, letter, or text message.
🌼 Give flowers, jewelry or other thoughtful gifts.
