This year we are offering three options for folks needing raised beds: Our large, raised bed now lowered for better accessibility; the smaller "barrel" raised bed we offered last year; and 5 gal. container buckets for folks who have limited space suitable for successful veggie growing.
We will be starting our seedlings soon, thanks to a partnership with a local greenhouse. This partnership-GRO- also allows RCAM to offer many gardening-related workshops on a regular schedule. If you have asked for rototilling, please be aware we are searching for volunteer rototillers and may not be able to provide this service but are hopeful to find a solution. As we did last year- our seeds and seedlings distributions will be located at The Earley Farm & Nursery, 639 Gardiner Rd., Wales, ME 04280.

Our 2025 SEED MONEY CAMPAIGN starts today and ends on December 15. With a successful SeedMoney campaign, RCAM will have the financial resources it needs to continue to meet an anticipated increase in demand as more of our food insecure families discover our gardening program and its resources. Funds will go toward the purchase of seeds and seedlings and for materials to build raised beds. Additional funds will allow us to increase the number of families we can enroll and provide more classes for our home gardeners. Some of the classes we offer are on seed saving, container gardening, and canning. Since 1970, we’ve worked to address homelessness and hunger in our 14-town service area in rural Maine. RCAM addresses rural hunger by helping rural families learn to garden so they can access vegetables year-round. To donate, click here:
