Staff from the County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services (MHSADS) will take part in the second annual International Overdose Awareness Day candlelight vigil on Monday, August 31, 7:00 p.m., at the Charles Hamilton Courthouse in Leesburg to provide information about local services and resources, as well as free naloxone nasal spray while supplies last.

Construction of County’s new recycling center in Lovettsville is expected to get underway tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The center will be located in Lovettsville Community Park. During construction, access to one segment of the park’s equestrian/natural surface trail will be limited. The new recycling enter is expected to be ready for operation in early 2027. Members of the public are encouraged to attend one of two upcoming open houses on the County Data Center Standards and Locations planning and zoning project. The open houses will be identical in format and information presented and will take place from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. The first is Monday, September 28, at Broad Run High School in Ashburn; the second is Wednesday, September 30, at Douglass Community Center in Leesburg. Reminder: County is hosting an information session this Wednesday, August 26, 2026, for nonprofit organizations concerning changes to the county's Human Services Grant Program application process. Find details here: loudoun.gov/NonprofitGrants

Loudoun County nonprofit organizations are encouraged to attend an upcoming informational/feedback session on changes designed to improve County’s Human Services Nonprofit Grant Program. The meeting will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2026, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., at the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties, 714 E. Market Street, Leesburg.
