What is that equipment used for? 🚒

Fire and rescue work involves more than putting out fires. Levelland Fire Rescue prepares for challenging situations such as high-angle rescues, confined spaces, structural collapses, trench emergencies, heavy equipment incidents, and swift-water rescues.

Specialized training and coordination help our team respond when emergencies require skills and equipment beyond a typical fire response.

A huge thank you to our community partners Atmos Energy for their continuous support. Representatives from Atmos delivered response training to gas calls along with many other insights as to how our teams respond and work together.

Rain is always welcome in Levelland, but it can also create standing water where mosquitoes multiply.

Mosquitoes are more than a nuisance. They can carry illnesses, including West Nile virus.

The City of Levelland has been treating pond areas and standing water with larvicide (which kills mosquito larva). The City has also been spraying when weather conditions, including wind, allow. Residents can help, too. After it rains, check your property for buckets, tires, flowerpots, toys, or other items that collect standing water. Empty or remove those items when possible.

Together, we can help reduce mosquito populations throughout our city.
