This week, the Lewisville Police Officers’ Association joins the nation in observing National Police Week. It is a time of deep reflection, immense pride, and unwavering community spirit.

We pause to remember the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage is the foundation of our safety, and their legacy lives on in every officer who wears the badge today. We carry their memory with us on every patrol, ensuring they are never forgotten.

To Our Lewisville Community
Thank you for standing by us. Whether it’s a wave on the street, a kind word at a coffee shop, or your continued support of our association, you make our mission possible.

How you can participate this week:
• Blue Lights: Display a blue light on your porch to show your support.
• Say Hello: If you see an officer out and about, a simple "thank you" goes a long way.
• Reflect: Take a moment to remember those who have served and those we have lost.

Thank you to everyone that came out today. It was a great event that ended with us destroying 145 lbs of Mud Bugs.

Thank you to Jump City Dallas and to the great guys at Lewisville Engine 6 who came out and enjoyed a great family event with us.

Huge thanks to Pier 121Marina for the beautiful setup.

This event gets bigger and bigger each year. The weather was great , minus a little rain, but 60-70 of you still came out to show your support. We Love You for that.

Come on out to the annual PD family crawfish boil. We will be out here until 7pm at Pier 121

More Texas cities are adopting the 8% TMRS employee contribution rate—an important factor for officers comparing long-term benefits, not just pay.

Why it matters: while salary gets the spotlight, TMRS contribution rates and city matches can significantly impact retirement over a 20–25 year career, especially in competitive DFW agencies.

Because of the incredible outpouring of support and the many people asking how they can help, we wanted to make sure everyone knows the ways to support the Swope family during this incredibly difficult time.

A donation page has been set up through the Lewisville Fire Fighters Foundation, and any support is deeply appreciated and will go directly to Michael’s wife and children.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Lewisville Firefighter Michael Swope.

Michael dedicated his life to serving and protecting others, and his commitment, courage, and compassion will never be forgotten. He was more than a firefighter — he was a brother, a friend, and a valued member of the Lewisville community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s family, friends, and his brothers and sisters during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace, Michael. Your service and sacrifice will always be honored.
