Crews from the Lewisville Fire Department and agencies across Texas are making substantial progress on the Ross Fire, getting a solid knock on active flame fronts and securing key containment lines.
Operations on the line have been grueling, but the community support behind the scenes has made all the difference. We want to extend a massive thank you to The Lush Resort and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Graford, Texas.
When our crews came off long, exhausting shifts, The Lush Resort opened their doors and their kitchens without hesitation. They provided our personnel with hot showers, air-conditioned rooms to rest, and warm, home-cooked meals before the next operational period.
Acts of hospitality like this keep our crews fueled, rested, and ready to get back to work. Thank you to the staff and ownership at The Lush Resort for backing Texas firefighters when it counts the most.

COMMUNITY ADVISORY: ONGOING SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATION
Earlier today, the Lewisville Fire Department was dispatched to reports of a missing person.
A coordinated multi-agency response is actively underway near Lake Park. Personnel from the Lewisville Fire Department, Lewisville Police Department, Texas Game Wardens, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have deployed resources across water, shore, and inland areas.
Specialized search assets currently on scene include:
Multiple fire department rescue boats equipped with sonar capabilities conducting grid searches on the water.
Shore-based water drones actively sweeping the shoreline and shallow access points.
Overhead unmanned aircraft systems (drones) providing wide-area aerial reconnaissance.
We ask the public to please steer clear of the Lake Park area. Keeping roadways, boat ramps, and park access points open allows emergency crews and dive teams to conduct these intensive operations safely and without interference.
Further updates will be shared as official information becomes available.

This is what the fire service is all about.
While our crews from Lewisville Fire Station 3 were out working a structure fire, the brothers and sisters from the Coppell Fire Department stepped up to cover our station and keep our city protected.
Listening to the radio traffic and hearing our crews finally clear the scene exhausted, the Coppell crew took it upon themselves to head into our kitchen and cook a hot dinner so Station 3 had a warm meal waiting the second they walked through the bay doors.
Mutual aid is about answering the call when help is needed, but gestures like this are what define true brotherhood. Coming back to a shared table after a tough run means more than words can say.
Thank you, Coppell Fire Department, for watching our back and taking care of our house. We are proud to serve alongside you.

Twenty-five years ago today, 343 firefighters answered their final call.
They ran toward danger, climbed into darkness, and gave everything so that others might live. A quarter of a century has passed, but time does not dull the ache, nor does it diminish the reverence we hold for their bravery.
Today, the men and women of the Lewisville Fire Department stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our brothers and sisters in the FDNY.
Across our city, our apparatus will roll out onto the station pads. The red lights will flash, cutting through the morning, but our voices will remain silent. We stand tall in quiet tribute to the fallen, to the survivors who carried the invisible scars home, and to the families who still carry the quiet weight of grief every single day.
You are not forgotten.
Your courage is not forgotten.
Your sacrifice is etched forever into the bedrock of the fire service.
As we mark this 25th anniversary, we ask our Lewisville community to pause with us today. Take a moment to reflect on the nearly 3,000 innocent souls lost on September 11, 2001. Remember the immense heartbreak of that morning—but also remember the morning after. Remember the hands reached out across differences, the quiet unity, and how an entire nation stood united to heal, protect, and lift one another up.
May we never forget their sacrifice. May we always live worthy of it.
We remember. Today, and always.

Twenty-five years ago, our nation changed forever.
On September 11, 2001, 343 FDNY firefighters, alongside law enforcement officers, paramedics, and everyday citizens, ran toward danger without hesitation. They climbed stairwells knowing the risks, driven solely by the call to serve and save others.
Nearly a quarter of a century has passed, but the gravity of that morning does not fade with time. For the fire service, "Never Forget" isn't just a phrase repeated once a year—it is a sacred promise. We carry their courage, their sacrifice, and the lessons of that day with us on every single shift.
Members of the Lewisville Fire and Police Department stand in solemn remembrance of the 2,977 innocent lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. We honor the families who still carry the weight of an empty chair at the dinner table, and we continue to hold in our prayers the first responders who are still battling 9/11-related illnesses today.
May we always honor their legacy not just in our words, but in how we serve, protect, and care for one another every day.
Lewisville will never forget.
