Detectives with the Liberty Lake Police Department continue to investigate the Augst 30, 2026 shooting in the 21200 block of E. Country Vista Drive.

During the investigation, detectives have conducted multiple interviews and collected additional evidence related to the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

At this time, no criminal charges have been filed in connection with this incident. The investigation remains active, and detectives are working closely with the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office.

Because this remains an active investigation, additional details regarding statements, evidence, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting are being withheld to protect the integrity of the investigation.

There continues to be no known threat to the community related to this incident. Additional information will be released when appropriate.

*Proactive policing leads to the arrest of a theft suspect!*

This morning at approximately 9:41 AM, Officers were at Safeway conducting routine patrol checks of the area. An Officer observed an adult male exiting the store without paying for items and the Officer detained him to investigate further.

Cameron Standingrock was subsequently issued a citation for theft related charges and was booked into custody after it was learned he had a felony warrant for his arrest issued by Department of Corrections and a local misdemeanor warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

As we approach election season, the Liberty Lake Police Department would like to remind the public that removal, damaging, or tampering of political signs or other property lawfully placed, is a direct violation of Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and is a chargeable offense. On 08/30/2026 at approximately 0226 hours, Liberty Lake Police Officers were dispatched to reports of a shooting at 21200 E Country Vista Drive, Liberty Lake, WA.

Upon arrival, Officers quickly identified and detained the suspect and secured the scene while rendering initial aid to the sole victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported by medical personnel for further treatment.

This is an ongoing investigation; no further information will be provided at this time. There is no current or active threat to the community related to this investigation at this time.

Today, our patrol officers located a bicycle in the area of N Meadowwood Lane and E Mission Avenue. We have already checked with recent reports of stolen bicycles and it doesn't seem to be a match. If you're missing your bicycle please be sure to report it with details and, if possible, a photograph, so we can match it!

On 08/25/2026 at approximately 1350 hours, Chief Simmons, of Liberty Lake Police Department, observed a male on an electric motorcycle riding recklessly in the area of E Indiana Avenue and N Snoqualmie Road, Liberty Lake, WA. The rider was excessively speeding while unlawfully occupying lanes of traffic and was observed weaving in and out of lanes to go around other vehicles in motion.

The rider is described as a teenage male, possibly 15-16 years old, mixed race with darker complexion, wearing a dark blue t-shirt, light blue jeans, and dark colored helmet.

Upon attempting to effect a traffic stop, the rider increased his speed to an estimated 50 miles per hour in an attempt to flee detention. The rider continued to swerve in and out of traffic/lanes and began lane-splitting between same direction and opposing traffic, nearly colliding with vehicles.

The Liberty Lake Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the male rider to support our investigation in identifying the rider and ultimately continuing our efforts to keep our roadways safe for all.

The attached video provides a brief observation of the rider as he is seen speeding down an alleyway in the area.

***UPDATE***

Liberty Lake Police Department was called to the scene of a suspicious package/device in the area of E Valley Vista Drive and N Kramer Road.

After investigating, with the assistance of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department Explosive Disposal Unit, it was determined the item was of no concern and harmless to the public.

We’d like to thank the Sheriff’s Department for their support and the community members diverting their travels while we ensure safety within our community!
