Shoutout to our amazing friends at Herbalife! 💚

🌸 Mother's Day Brunch at URM 🌸

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible program staff and volunteers from Love and Unity Christian Fellowship for organizing a beautiful and joy-filled Mother’s Day Brunch for the amazing moms at Union Rescue Mission. 💐

From gift baskets filled with sun hats, sunglasses, scarves, and fuzzy socks 🧺🕶️ to flowers, jewelry bags, and brand-new shoes 👠—each mom was celebrated with love and care.

While the moms relaxed and enjoyed their brunch, our staff kept the little ones entertained with fun games and activities! 🎈🎉

We were honored to have Yeilen Hernandez, our VP of Human Resources, as the keynote speaker—offering words of encouragement and empowerment that touched hearts. 💬✨

To everyone who made this day possible: thank you for making our moms feel seen, valued, and celebrated. 💖

Just Help 1: Meet Kristy as She Shares Her Journey to Safety and Strength

Kristy is a vibrant young girl whose joy is contagious. But growing up, Kristy’s living situation was unstable and dangerous. Kristy’s mother endured abuse, and she witnessed her mother’s suffering. Due to the uncertainty of their living conditions, her family moved between multiple shelters and hotels in search of safety and stability.

Everything began to change when they arrived at Hope Gardens. Kristy describes it as “living in a castle.” Here, she feels safe and protected by caring staff and supportive security, whom she refers to as bodyguards. Hope Gardens gave Kristy, her mother, and her brother a stable home and the tools to begin healing together. Kristy sees Hope Gardens as their blessing.

Today, Kristy is thriving. She dreams of having a big family someday and becoming a nurse because she loves helping people.

There are still so many children like Kristy looking for a safe place to land. But if we all come together to Just Help 1, we can ensure one less child will be at risk — and offer hope, healing and a bright future to those who need it most.
