Meet Ebony: A Weingart Center Success Story.

From experiencing domestic violence, alcoholism, and homelessness to achieving sobriety, earning culinary certifications, and giving back to her peers—Ebony’s journey is a testament to the power of supportive housing and holistic care.

Join resident Ebony Ferguson and her case manager, Chantell Nash, at Hilda L. Solis Care First Village as they discuss the impact of wraparound services, counseling, job training programs (Homeboy Industries & LA:RISE), secure shelter, and community support in breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Congrats to our Chief Operating Officer, Tonja Boykin!

Tonja Boykin is one of Los Angeles’s most influential nonprofit executives, with a decade of transformative leadership at the Weingart Center Association (WCA). Since becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2016, Boykin has helped guide the organization through one of the most significant periods of growth in its 40-year history—improving outcomes for thousands of Angelenos experiencing homelessness. Boykin’s achievements at Weingart are exceptional. Under her operational leadership, WCA has evolved from a single-site homeless services provider into a major developer and operator of affordable housing. Over the past five years alone, the organization has completed five affordable housing communities totaling 739 units, each designed for individuals exiting homelessness, including seniors and Veterans.

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we are reminded that hope grows through connection.

At Weingart Center, we believe that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. Through housing, case management, and access to essential resources, we help people build stability while navigating some of life’s most difficult moments.

A caring conversation can be a powerful first step. If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988 anytime to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
