Rediscover Center We provide makers with the tools, resources, and confidence to engage in creative reuse and self-expression. In addition, we host birthday parties.

Founded in 2004, we combine reuse materials from households and businesses with powerful tools at our two permanent makerspaces and across LA. Creative Reuse Center for Kids and Adults, Tinkering, Building & Create what comes to your imagination! We have summer camps, after-school classes, drop in to Tinkering School LA anytime after 3 pm M-F. We host pop-up cardboard playgrounds at local parks on a regular basis. Thanks to you, we surpassed Rediscover’s $75,000 campaign goal by nearly 10% to ensure 120 scholarships will go to deserving youth and families from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds this summer and be ready for last minute financial aid requests. We’re providing young makers with the inimitable Tinkering Camp experience!

This achievement reflects our community efforts to make a real difference for those in need across Los Angeles County. With your help, creative 6 to 12 year olds who otherwise wouldn’t have access to hands-on sustainable maker experiences are going to transform recycled materials into incredible art projects and huge collaborative creations.

Youth from Glendale to Venice will gain hands-on art and STEM skills while building creativity and confidence for future projects, professional careers, and major life milestones. That is incredible!

Rediscover Mid City is partnering with Fairy Camp for a recycled‑materials fairy house workshop where kids and their favorite grown ups can tinker, glue, and imagine together.

The workshop is $15, and we’re offering a two-for-one ticket deal to make it easy to create side by side!

🐸🪄 Sorry to say this but Rediscover Venice and Mid City will be closed on Saturdays for the summer. Plan ahead and join us on Sundays instead! We'll be open on Sundays for Weekend Family Crafting, Tool Training, and Open Studio.

We'll be hosting FREE Artist Workshops on select Sundays, found in our Eventbrite.

⭐️ Because of your incredible generosity, Rediscover Center has met our $15,000 volunteer match. And the community has collectively raised $71,000 of the organization’s $75,000 goal to support 120 kids with summer camp. We ONLY have 1 day left and $4,000 to go.

🎁 Your gift will provide hands-on sustainable summer camp for youth ages 6-12, bringing joy to underserved kids who may not have access to arts activities, welcoming spaces, and ways to play with their peers this summer. This summer, Rediscover will host camps for youth at Rediscover Center Venice, Rediscover Center Mid City, and a pop-up in Rediscover Center on the border of Atwater and Glendale. Over the course of the season, hundreds of kids will come through our doors to build projects, make new friends, and experience the joy of hands-on creativity. It’s an incredible experience that we believe every kid, youth, and maker deserves access to this summer. 🪵🪚

This year, demand for financial aid has increased significantly due to growing economic needs facing many Los Angeles families. Based on a recent national survey by Edge Research of 30,515 parents or guardians of school-age children, parents want summer learning experiences for their kids, but half of them are being left out.

We are raising $75,000 by June 5 to support more families during the upcoming camp season. Every donation helps provide creative opportunities for kids across Los Angeles. Help us spread the word about Tinkering Camp and our scholarship campaign. ⭐️

🎪 Thank you for attending Puppets & Play last Saturday at The Pit La! We had a blast sharing the stage with the amazing puppeteers at All Fools Puppet Troupe and all the families that attended. Big thank you to Heirloom LA for delicious catering spread and Organic Wine Selections by Natural Merchants for the incredible bar provisions. 🍇

This event was made possible by the team of volunteers and Rediscover staff who poured their artistry into this production. This is the magic of cardboard, hands-on making, and collaboration all in one night. Let’s bring more magic to The Pit this summer! 🔨✨
