Some of our Kentucky Senior Medicare Patrol team traveled to Washington, D.C. for the 2026 ACL OHIC National Conference last week. They are ready to bring home fresh ideas to protect our seniors from fraud.

During the conference they learned new ways to stop healthcare fraud, received vital updates for the SMP program, and connected with peers from across the country.

What you do: Drop off and share trusted resources at local spots like libraries, senior centers, and health fairs.

We often say that Medicare will never call you…. with a few key exceptions! One of the only times when a representative of Medicare will actually contact its beneficiaries by phone is for the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey, which is currently being conducted in our region.
This survey helps CMS understand experiences of people covered by Medicare so they can improve the program. If you’re selected to participate in the survey, an interviewer may contact you over the phone or in-person to conduct the interview – however, unlike scammers, the interviewer will not ask you to verify your Medicare number!
