Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kentucky State Police and the family, friends, and fellow Troopers of Trooper Hayden Phillips, Unit 369, following his tragic line-of-duty death earlier today.

The loss of an officer is felt throughout the entire law enforcement community. We stand alongside our brothers and sisters of the Kentucky State Police as they mourn this tremendous loss.

May Trooper Phillips’ service, sacrifice, and dedication to the Commonwealth of Kentucky never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Trooper Phillips. We have the watch from here. 🖤💙🖤

Corrections officers don’t stop serving when they leave the facility.

This week, Officer K. Wynn, one of our own, proved exactly that by courageously intervening during a violent knife attack while off duty. The victim later said it best:

“The off-duty corrections officer saved his life.”

That is the caliber of men and women who serve our community every day—inside our facilities and beyond our walls.

We are proud to call Officer Wynn our brother and thank him for his courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to protecting others.

Louisville Metro Department of Corrections is aware of a false social media post claiming that LMDC is under investigation in connection with a homicide inside the jail and suggesting the involvement of a corrections officer.

This claim is not true. There has been no homicide at LMDC, and the department has no record of any incident—on or off duty—involving an officer that matches the allegations described.

Misinformation of this nature is serious and can cause unnecessary concern for families, staff, and the community. LMDC remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the safety of those in our custody, our employees, and the public.

We encourage the public and media to rely on official Louisville Metro Government and LMDC communications for accurate information. Anyone with questions should contact the department through official channels.

Throwback Thursday! 📸

Today we’re looking back at several academy classes and events from the Jefferson County Corrections Department—long before the merger. These photos represent generations of dedicated correctional professionals who helped build the foundation of the department we know today.

A special thank you to everyone who has submitted photos so far. We truly appreciate your willingness to help preserve our history and share it with our members. If you have old academy, training, or departmental photos tucked away, we’d love to see them! Feel free to post them in the comments or send them to us so we can feature them in a future Throwback Thursday.

📸 Help Us Preserve Our History! 📸

We’re looking for old photos from the pre-merger Jefferson County Corrections era and the early days of Louisville Metro Corrections.

If you have any photos you’d be willing to share, please post them in the comments or email them to [email protected]. We plan to feature them on our page and eventually display them at the Lodge.

Help us preserve the history and legacy of Louisville Corrections!
