It was wonderful spending time with our community, seeing so many families, and enjoying all the smiles ❤️

THEY CONDEMNED ANNA BENSI AND HER MOTHER

This is what living under a dictatorship looks like.

Ana Sofía Benítez is 21 years old. Her crime? Recording with her phone from the door of her own house when a regime agent came to bring her a summons.

For that video, the Cuban dictatorship just sentenced her AND her mother, Caridad Silvente, to 2 years of restricted freedom.

A 21-year-old girl with a phone is considered a "danger" to the state. That's not justice. That's fear. That's a regime that punishes anyone who dares not stay silent.

Who are they? Ana Betsy and her mother are two ordinary Cuban women who refused to look away. They are the face of thousands of Cubans who live under constant surveillance, harassment, and show trials with no independent judges only the orders of the Communist Party.

This is the reality of Cuba. This is why my family had to leave.

We didn't leave because we wanted to. We left because in Cuba, telling the truth can cost you your freedom and your life.

I will never be silent about it. In Congress, I will always stand against dictatorship and for freedom here and in Cuba.

As an ER nurse, I've seen firsthand what violence does to families in our communities. As a mother, I know what it feels like to worry if your kids are safe walking home.
I'm not a career politician. I'm a mother, nurse, and small business owner and I will ALWAYS support our police and fight to stop violent crime.
We need to secure our neighborhoods and protect our families.

I'm a mother, a nurse, a small business owner, and a former student who knows what it's like to worry about making ends meet.

Washington forgot about us. I haven't.

Today, Kentucky mourns the loss of Kentucky State Police Trooper Hayden Phillips, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting the Commonwealth.

As someone who proudly stands with law enforcement, I am praying for Trooper Phillips, his family, his fellow troopers, and everyone who knew and served alongside him.

Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line for us every day. We must never take that sacrifice for granted.

May God comfort his loved ones, and may Kentucky always remember Trooper Hayden Phillips and the service he gave to our Commonwealth. 🇺🇸💙

Rest in peace, Trooper. We will remember your sacrifice 🙏🏻
