As of now, there are still some power outages being reported around town. City workers are still out fixing issues. PD phone lines and internet are back up and working. We ask everyone to call the non-emergency number 830-875-2411 for reports or updates. However, there is no eta on power being restored at this time. Please do not call 911 unless it’s an emergency and you need an immediate response from first responders.
Our utility workers have been out all night working hard to serve our community. It has been a long night for all and the goal is to safely do the job we are called to do.

Phone lines at PD are down!
City workers are fully aware of power outages, please refrain from coming into the lobby to report power outages.

603 p.m. National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for all of Caldwell County. 60 mph winds and penny size hail is likely. Warning has been issued until 7:00 p.m..
Severe weather knocking out electric in town, City of Luling Electric Department is aware and working on outages.

A new school year means new beginnings, new friendships, new adventures, and lots of learning! As our children head back to school, we’re asking our entire community to do their part to help keep them safe. Slow down, stay alert, put the phone down, watch for children, and remember to stop for school buses when the lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended. 🛑
Whether you’re a parent, student, teacher, bus driver, or just passing through a school zone, we all play a part in protecting our kids. Please allow yourself a little extra time, be patient, and pay attention as traffic increases around our schools.

On behalf of the men and women of the Luling Police Department, I extend our most heart felt condolences to the Family of Trooper Sergio Romero as well as the men and women of the Texas Department of Public Safety

It is with great sadness that DPS announces the death of Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Sergio Romero.

Trooper Romero was attempting to conduct a traffic stop along US-287 near Childress, around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, when a truck-tractor semi-trailer pulled out in front of him, causing his patrol unit to collide with the vehicle. Trooper Romero died on scene.

Trooper Romero answered the call to serve each day with honor and remained steadfast in his commitment to protecting and serving Texans. The DPS family will never forget the ultimate sacrifice he made in service of this state.
